Vicente Gandía Winery
In 2010 Vicente Gandía Winery set up the exhibition Art in Barrels,exhibited in the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Moder Art) with the participation of the most relevant artists of Valencia commissioned by José Morea. This museum has been assembled in an old warehouse placed at the vine-growing plantation named Hoya de Cadenas.This old building dates from the 18th century and it was used as a winery installation. It has 400 m2 and was divided in three areas: Grape unloading area, fermentation vats , decanting room. The aim of this new museum is the development of art and enotourism. The museum is divided in 3 areas: the gallery, the crypt and the tasting room. The gallery has 200m2 and contains 12 barrels painted by Jose San Leon, Javier Chapa, Sebastian Nicolau, Natividad Navalon, Cuqui Guillen, Artur Heras, Monique Bastiaans, Uiso Alemany, Vicente Peris, Jose Morea, Joan Verdu, Cari Roig. This gallery has a multipurpose use and it is designed to house different types of meetings and cultural activities. The tasting room has 100m2 and it has been designed to hold wine tastings and other demonstrations of the wine culture.
